He arrived in August, not knowing a soul, leaving behind everything and everyone he’s ever known in his small hometown of Burgdorf, Germany. Studying in America had been a dream of Ide’s for a few years, and although he faced a few challenges, he found his way. Ide lived with the Moon family and attended Westlake High School with his host brother, fellow junior Parker Moon. Ide’s American experience ended prematurely, though, when he recently learned that he would have to return to Germany in light of the growing threat of COVID-19.... |
